Chiang Mai Sunday Walking Market

This once-a-week market is definitely one of Chiang Mai’s greatest tourist attractions. The city of Chiang Mai offers local craft persons the opportunity to take a section of the Ratchadamnern Street for free. This city initiative has resulted in a hugely popular market with streets packed full of beautiful handcrafted items that can be purchased for a fraction of their cost anywhere else in Thailand .

Cushion covers, scarves, candle holders, lampshades, jewellery, aromatherapy oil, and so much more can be found at the Sunday market. If you are running low on energy you can grab a bite to eat from any of the food vendors that serve up varied and tasty dishes in the grounds of the many temples along the market walking route. And if your feet start to ache (and they probably will) after browsing through this enormous market you can take a seat, relax, and watch the hustle and bustle of the market whilst you receive a Thai foot massage. This market should not be missed.
