Thai Vegetarian cooking course
The You Sabai/Pun Pun Vegetarian cooking course includes transportation to and from Chiang Mai, local market tour, organic farm tour, three nights accommodation, meals, morning tea or coffee, morning yoga class (optional), making homemade soy milk and tofu, learning to cook eleven dishes, making curry paste, and a recipe book.
All our dishes are healthy, MSG-free, and mostly organic. Each dish can be customized to each person’s preference of spiciness, and with or without eggs or mushrooms. We also explain to students how to prepare a dish with meat if they wish.

The eleven dishes can be chosen from this list of twenty three dishes:
Curry Dishes:
- Green curry with eggplant and tofu (Gank-keaw-waan)
- Red curry with vegetables and mushrooms
- Yellow curry with vegetables (Gank-kati)
- Masaman curry with potatoes and pineapple (Gank-masaman)
- Panang curry with vegetables and tofu (Gank-panang)
- Stir fried red curry paste with vegetables
Soup Dishes:
- Mushroom in coconut milk soup (Tom-ka-hed)
- Spicy soup with mushrooms and tofu (Tom-yum)
- Clear soup with seaweed and egg tofu (Gank-joot-sarai)
Stir Fried Dishes:
- Stir fried vegetables with cashew nuts (Pad-met-ma-muan)
- Stir fried ginger with mushrooms (Hed-pad-cing)
- Stir fried sweet and sour with pineapple
- Stir fried tofu with basil leaf and vegetables (Pad-ka-prow)
Noodle Dishes:
- Pad thai
- Stir fried glass noodles with vegetables and egg (pad-woon-sen)
- Stir fried large noodles with thick gravy sauce (rad-naa)
- Stir fried large noodles with vegetables and egg (pad-si-iew)
Thai Spicy Saled Dishes:
- Green papaya salad (som-tam-thai)
- Glass noodle spicy salad
Appetizers:
- Fresh or deep fried spring rolls with glass noodle, vegetables, and peanut sauce
Desserts:
- Sweet sticky rice with coconut milk and mango (cow-niaw-ma-muang)
- Deep fried banana or pineapple
- Banana or pumpkin in coconut milk
Registration and pick-up information
Please go to Pun Pun Restaurant located inside Wat Suan Dok temple in Chiang Mai city.
(To get there just tell any public truck driver “Wat Suan Dok” and they will drop you off in front of a large, popular temple on the west side of town. Walk down the road straight back into the temple until you get to a monk chat building on your right. Keep going past this building and then take a right. Pun Pun Restaurant is located just behind the monk chat building in an outdoor courtyard.)
At the temple, ask to speak to Dtai and let him know you would like to register for the Pun Pun cooking course. He will have you fill out a form and take your money in full. Then on the Monday of the week of the course you registered for, come back to the restaurant to meet the truck at 1:00 pm that will take you to the farm.
Daily schedule:
Monday: pick up at 1:00pm, local market tour at 3:00pm, organic farm tour at 5:30pm, dinner at 7:00pm.
Tuesday: morning yoga at 6:45am, breakfast at 8:30am, learning to make soymilk and tofu at 9:30am, learning two dishes for lunch, afternoon rest, learning three dishes at 4:00pm for dinner.
Wednesday: morning yoga at 6:45am, breakfast at 8:30am, learning three dishes for lunch, afternoon rest, learning three dishes at 4:00pm for dinner.
Thursday: morning yoga at 6:45am, breakfast at 8:30am, depart at 9:30am.

My belly thanks you! Wonderful class, cute huts, great people and scenic views! We have enjoyed it all. Can’t wait to try all the dishes at home! If I ever run away from home, I am coming here. Take care and good luck with all your endeavors.
